AI Tools in Student Life
AI Tools Survey Analysis
My research topic: AI Tools in Student Life
Target: Japanese and International University Students
Number of respondents: (26)
(Summary)
Students answered 10 questions about their use of AI tools in their academic and daily lives.
(Results)
Graph #2 shows that most respondents use AI tools frequently. In fact, 61.5% reported using AI every day, while only 3.8% said they never use AI tools. This result is not surprising considering how accessible AI has become for students.
Graph #3 shows that ChatGPT is the most commonly used AI tool among respondents. Approximately 80.8% selected ChatGPT as their preferred AI tool. This result is not surprising because ChatGPT is widely known and easily accessible to students. Gemini was the second most popular option.
Graph #4 shows that students mainly use AI tools for brainstorming ideas. This category received the highest number of responses (73.1%). Homework and research were tied for second place at 69.2%. These results suggest that students view AI as both a learning assistant and a creative support tool.
Graph #5 shows that most respondents find AI tools very helpful in their student life. In fact, 69.2% selected the highest rating of 5. This result indicates that AI has become an important part of many students' academic routines.
Graph #6 shows that most students are moderately confident in completing assignments without AI tools. The most common response was 3 out of 5 (38.5%). However, many students also selected higher confidence levels, suggesting that while AI is useful, students still believe they can work independently when necessary.
Graph #7 shows how stressed students would feel if they could not use AI tools for studying. The most common response was 3 out of 5 (34.6%). This result suggests that many students have become accustomed to AI tools, but most do not feel completely dependent on them.
Graph #8 shows that many respondents believe students rely too much on AI tools. In fact, 84.6% selected either 4 or 5 on the scale. This result is particularly interesting because it suggests that even frequent AI users recognize the risk of over reliance.
List #9 shows participants' comments regarding the usefulness of AI. Many respondents stated that AI saves time, helps explain difficult concepts, assists with translation, and generates new ideas. Several students also mentioned that AI makes assignments easier and more efficient.
List #10 shows participants' opinions about dependence on AI. Some respondents felt that students should continue to think critically rather than rely entirely on AI. Others noted that AI has become a normal part of modern education and should be used responsibly.
(CONCLUSION)
This survey revealed that AI tools play an important role in student life. Most respondents use AI frequently, with ChatGPT being the most popular platform. Students primarily use AI for brainstorming, homework, and research, and most believe that AI is highly helpful in their studies. However, many participants also believe that students may rely too heavily on AI tools. These findings could be useful for educators and researchers who wish to better understand the impact of AI on university students.
